What Tractline does

A map shows you lines from above. Tractline shows them from where you are standing, so you can match the line to the trees, the fence and the road in front of you.

Your property

Bring your own lines

Load the boundary you have: your parcel, a lease or permission line from a landowner, a shape drawn in Google Earth, or a track you walked. GPX, KML, KMZ or GeoJSON, straight from Files, Mail or Messages. See whether you are inside it, how far the edge is, and which way.

Public land

Know what land you are on

Game lands, state parks, national forests and other public land, with the nearest boundary's distance and direction. Close to a line, Tractline says so instead of guessing which side you are on.

3D view

Walls on the real ground

Boundaries stand up as see-through walls on the terrain, as a drawing or over the live camera. Look from a tree stand or from above, scout a spot before you go, and line the compass up by your shadow or a road.

Private

Offline, and it keeps nothing

Boundaries, terrain and roads are on your phone, so it works with no signal. No account, no ads, no tracking. Your location and your files never leave your phone.

Approximate. Not a survey.

Tractline helps you find a line. It does not decide where a line is.

  • Agency boundaries come from maps that their own publishers call approximate.
  • Phone GPS is often off by 5 to 15 meters, more under heavy trees.
  • A line you import is only as good as the file it came from.
  • Posted boundary signs, official agency maps and a licensed survey decide. Look for posted boundary signs, and check the regulations for the land you hunt.

Plan from your computer

The Tractline map runs right here in your browser. Click any spot in North Carolina to see what land it is and how far the nearest boundary is, load your own lines, and look at the walls in 3D from that spot before you go. Nothing to install and no account.

Where it works

North Carolina for now: public land statewide, with 3D terrain, roads and trails around the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill). More of the state is coming. Lines you import work anywhere.
